Chamber Concert 2, 7th September 2014, Eastbank Function Rooms, Shepparton
For the close of the concert the Shepparton String Ensemble, with soloists, Ella Bicknell and Catriiona Saunders, played For the close of the concert the Shepparton String Ensemble, with soloists, Ella Bicknell and Catriiona Saunders, played "Bailes Para Orquesta", (Dances For Orchestra) by Richard Meyer. This was a favourite from many years ago, and especially for Ella, who learnt it at the Howqua Orchestra camp and always dreamed of playing the solo. Here she is playing in a trio from 2012 in the absence of any other photos at this stage of the string group.

Players walked to their positions to the beat of drums played by Wade Gregory and Gautham Santhakumar for the "Game of Thrones" opening title theme. Then Gautham played a piano solo with the strings called "Kiss the Rain" (arranged for strings by Wade) by Yiruma. He played this delicately and well. The opening set was finished off by the Lady Gaga Fugue by Germanotta and Khayat.

Felicity Oakes sang three songs: Felicity Oakes sang three songs: "Thankyou For the Music" by ABBA, "There's a Fine, Fine Line" from Avenue Q and "Let It Go" from Frozen. She sang beautifully, accompanied by Matt Carrafa throughout. She was also joined by her mother, Wendy Oakes, on violin for the Avenue Q song, and by a string quartet, (written by Matt Carrafa), for "Let It Go", consisting of Wendy, Catriona Saunders, Peter Read and Demi Wood

Bruce Sterling, Charlotte Drinnan and Wade Gregory played two entertaining pieces for six hands, Bruce Sterling, Charlotte Drinnan and Wade Gregory played two entertaining pieces for six hands, "Waltz" by Rachmaninov and "Pizzicato" from Sylvia. This was the light comedy piece, with the musicians having trouble deciding where they were going to sit at the start of the first piece!

VCE student, Chris Revell, from Wanganui Park Secondary College, played Trumpet Concerto, Movement 2 by Haydn, accompanied by Charlotte Drinnan on piano. VCE student, Daly Wilson, from Wanganui Park Secondary College, played Improvisation 1 by Ryo Noda on Saxophone.
