Simon and Felicity Oakes, brother and sister back together again for an orchestra concert. They have grown up with the orchestra but Simon has not played in it for two years, being in Melbourne at university. Besides playing violin together, they also sang together in the Simon and Felicity Oakes, brother and sister back together again for an orchestra concert. Rebecca Jennings leads the second violin section of the orchestra, a small but vital section, and she has come a long way since joining, practising her parts and improving all the time. Sharon Leppard and Brian Davis. Brian is an excellent trombone player but he is versatile, too and he agreed to play tuba for the concert, standing out in Sharon Leppard and Brian Davis. Brian is an excellent trombone player but he is versatile, too and he agreed to play tuba for the concert, standing out in "Finlandia", in particular, amongst other pieces. Sharon has been a stalwart of the orchestra and Sheppstrings, on the piano, almost since its inception and she accompanied two of the soloists in this concert as well as playing percussion in the orchestra.

Committee member Jane Tuckwell (her son William used to play violin in the orchestra) out celebrating at Bohjass Wine Bar after the concert. This is Matt Carrafa, the GVCO's leader for some years now. He plays very well and is appreciated for his playing prowess ( as well as for his sense of dress!). Matt is a valued member of the orchestra, often helping Wendy with the repertoire, and he is seen here in the green room before the concert. Carol McGregor is a very versatile member of  the GVCO, slipping easily from the second violins to the first violins and also to the viola section. She played both viola and violin in the concert. Nyree O'Connor and Lauren Thomas. Lauren, as a former leader returned to play in the whole concert and also to play a solo (see more details in the news section). Lauren had never met Nyree before but seems to be getting on well with her in this photo. The concert provided all sorts of opportunities to both meet new people and to renew acquaintances. Kristie Baker and Ozzie Jellyman. Kristie, as a former leader of the orchestra (on violin) returned to play French Horn for the whole concert and also to play a solo (see the Kristie Baker and Ozzie Jellyman. Caitlin Keighley and Mabel Leung. Caitlin is a medical student who plays violin and Mabel is also studying medicine now and used to play violin in the GVCO and Sheppstrings. Mabel returned to play in the final item of the concert, Caitlin Keighley and Mabel Leung. Four Horns. It was great to have a full complement of four horn players for the concert. Kristie Baker (nee Dannenmann) returned to play in the whole concert and also perform a solo. Jenna Bourke is a member of GVCO, as is Sam Schubert and Steve Sargant. Steve was also a guest conductor for the concert and has the added distinction of having taught all three others in the photo! Four Flutes. Flautists Cindy Abbey, Nyree O'Connor, Lia D'Augello and Vicki Prewett. All four are members of the GVCO, although Nyree is a medical student who has only been with the orchestra this year. She has loved being a member of the orchestra so far and everyone else has loved having her. She hopes to find time to return to the orchestra when she returns to Shepparton in the future. All three sang, accompanied by the orchestra, a medley of songs from the musical, Chicago, to great acclaim from the audience. Simon is a former member of the orchestra who returned for the anniversary to sing and play violin. The other two are current members. Felicity plays violin and Renee, cello.
